I recently took my winter getaway trip out of Minnesota. This year I chose beautiful Jamaica! An absolutely awesome vacation, but the highlight of the trip were the days my friends and I spent at Coral Cove in Little Bay! What a charming spot. We only planned an afternoon of scuba diving but we ended up spending two full days and still wished we had spent the whole week at Coral Cove. We spent the morning with Marshy & Alvis on a spear hunting fishing expedition - it was so beautiful and exciting watching Marshy dive down to the bottom of the ocean floor and come up with the catch. We spent the afternoon scuba diving the coral reefs of the turquoise sea. Our mid-day break was sunbathing & sitting by the sea, drinking fresh fruit juices. A late afternoon stroll into the town of Little Bay was most delightful, stopping to chat with all the friendly local folks. We returned to Coral Cove where the fresh lobster catch of the day had been prepared by Sophia & Jean. With music playing on the veranda, fresh cut flowers on the table, the sea breeze blowing softly, we sat in awe of an exquisite meal with so much beauty surrounding us. We didn't want to leave. We spent the evening talking and swinging in the hammocks that are in the gardens at Coral Cove. And as the evening turned to night we fell asleep in those hammocks, stars bright, sea waves splashing the shore and the night birds making chirping sounds. Do you want to hear about day two? It was as good or better than day one.

I had a wonderful experience at Coral Cove in Little Bay Jamaica. It was a full moon the night I stayed so I decided to sleep in the hammock by the ocean which, with a nice warm sleeping bag, makes for an awesome sleep in the fresh ocean air. My friends decided to take advantage of the spacious king size bed in one of the large bedrooms of the Caribbean resort. The bedroom was airy with the ocean breeze and a light smell of cedar from the beautiful furniture and the bed was decorated with clean white linen (so inviting) with a nice private bathroom of its own. I loved waking up to the sounds of the roosters, birds, and the ocean.

This Caribbean house is one that you have to see to believe and totally appreciate. It is a work of art - every room perfectly designed with touches of wood, coral, tile, furniture, wicker, fabric, color, etc. It would be hard to pick a favorite but in the morning I really enjoyed the large breakfast table on the veranda which over-looks the beautiful gardens, birds, patio, and the ocean. However, in the evening the Humming Bird bar three stories up is unbeatable! What a romantic spot with everything the senses thirst for, and a fabulous place to watch the sunset! It's Caribbean perfect.

Another highlight of this trip was going snorkeling with the Jamaican spear fisherman that speared us our lunch! He got us lobster, fish, and conch! And what a meal they prepared for us! The lobster was cooked two different ways - boiled and sliced and also cut up in a light tasty sauce to put over noodles! I don't know which I liked better. It was excellent. We also had fresh fruit, salad, and punch which was topped off with delicious sweet cake and coffee.

After two hours of snorkeling this meal was heavenly. The snorkeling was so enjoyable with so much to see - a nice variety of coral, fish and color. With the water being so warm, it is so easy to relax and enjoy the trip, and what a trip it is.

I could go on and on but I need to say that I would highly recommend Coral Cove to anyone that wants to have a great stay in Jamaica. Here you can wine, dine, snorkel, swim, sunbathe, hike, bike, go fishing, see the bat cave, mineral pools, and more.

I am an artist so I have done several sketches and paintings of this great night - very inspiring place!

Again, I need to mention the sunsets on the ocean (the color) - wow they are gorgeous!

I will go back! Next time it will be for a week or longer. I hope to see you there.
