About Coral Cove ResortCoral Cove began as a love affair with the village of Little Bay, a place that holds everything that is magical about the island of Jamaica, on a small stretch of the south coast only 10 miles from Negril. Little Bay is a small fishing village with a few shops and bars and some nice places to stay. An area so beautiful and full of good vibes that reggae legend Bob Marley had his own retreat just a few hundred yards up the coast. Where the main mode of transportation along the single road that runs along the coast through the village is bare feet, shoe leather, bicycles, and donkeys. The perfect place for what was going to be our two room board house on property that has a low cliff front, a small cove and private beach with great snorkeling in the protected coral reef at waters edge. With the near miss of Hurricane Mitch in October 1998 our plans for the two room board were modified. Four years later the two rooms turned into six, not including the staffed kitchen and library all with private entrances and veranda's. The single level turned into more as well, all capturing incredible views of the sea and mountain. Coral Cove's New Addition With the "Coral Cove Villa" having been completed and the cove at our doorstep, we were fortunate enough in the fall of 2003 to become stewards of the adjoining 3 acres that completed the cove and included a peninsula that reaches into the sea dividing Coral Cove and Homers Cove, a safe harbor for the Jamaican fishing boats that bring in the catch of the day. In a place where our guests found their home away from home and baby sea turtles a place to start their life long journeys, we made an effort to create the perfect location for weddings, meetings, and parties with the creation of our open air "Turtle Beach" pavilion in the fall of 2004. Setting on the beach directly above the cove overlooking the tide that sweeps in to Turtle Beach. Complimenting the beach pavilion are four cottage type rooms and two honeymoon suites. Adjacent to the "Turtle Beach House" is "The Wobble Bar" named after the "Miraculous Wobble" that spared Jamaica from a direct hit from Hurricane Ivan, however the storm laid in some new beach at Coral Cove that is now home to "The Wobble Bar". Knowing how excited we felt the first time laid eyes on the cove, it makes us happy to realize that it is possible to share our little piece of paradise with those looking for a very special place to spend time with one another, family or close friends. An excellent choice for weddings, parties, meetings, honeymoons and anniversaries. After your first visit you won't need a reason to return. It will come naturally. Inclusions: Included in the daily room rate are the generous breakfasts, lunch and appetizers during the day, as well as the romantic candlelight dinners. All refreshments including fresh juices, bottled water, sodas, premium beers, wine and liquors as well as fruit smoothies and other tropical drinks, all on a 24 hour basis. Use of Coral Cove bicycles, snorkeling gear and instruction, beach towels and all on-site amenities. Getting there is easy
The Ride: From this point on your stress-free, "No Problem Mon" vacation begins. The ride to Coral Cove will take you over the mountains through many small villages or along the coastal road. A stop at a roadside shop for a cold Jamaican Red Stripe or Ting may be in order on the way. The trip is a great introduction to genuine Jamaica, away from the developed tourism. "Little Bay Road" The last 4 miles of the ride in to Coral Cove has been the topic of many discussions. As a matter of fact there have been T-shirts silk screened that say "I SURVIVED THE ROAD TO LITTLE BAY" Many of us are of the opinion that the condition of the road is the very thing that keeps Little Bay a destination and not a thoroughfare. One thing is for sure, once you have made the 4 mile 15 minute journey you may very possibly agree with us, lets keep our road just as it is. Let's keep Little Bay a special place, a special destination. THE ISLAND VIBE IS CONTAGIOUS PICK IT UP!
